Well based on the critics response to both Man Of Steel and BvS, I think Snyder can take more of the blame for that.

I thought Baker was doing an OK job getting Ocelot’s voice moving towards Zimmerman’s in MGS V. But Yea Zimmerman was great as Ocelot, although it still didn’t look like it would fit with the game model in MGSV. He still looked younger than I think Ocelot should have been by the 80's.

That and he needed a WHOLE actor for MGS V due to motion/facial capture. Kiefer had to do all the acting not just the talking.

He made enough from the two x-men movies to just make a snarky comment in snake’s voice to the teller when his bank lost $30,000 of his money. So I mean, his writing is where he’s paying his bills.

His key performance was the facial capture though really. Big Boss said a lot without speaking.

His big Doors were from writing X-men (the real movie that revitalized comic book movies) He doesn’t even do that much acting. He’s primarily a writer.

Sutherland’s work was mostly in the Facial Capture, which I believe they used in the Japanese version as well.

Except in Japan they did use the same voice talent for Big Boss at the end of MGS4.

not just the snakes but MGS4 Big Boss AND Solidus.

I was really hoping there was going to be some kind of great reveal near the end of the game, and this was just another Kojima Fucking with the fans pre-launch.

I think some of the reason was that Sutherland did most of his acting in the facial capture.

Big Boss said a lot with out talking. Which you could see as better than “Repeat what you just said as a question?”

Really? No love for “Sins of the Father”? Also the you’re about to wander into an enemy area cue was pretty impactful after you’ve put some hours in.

Snake didn’t talk much because he was the player. He didn’t entirely become Big Boss until the end. When the game takes the reigns back away from you.

But you could argue then Ground Zeros Snake and “Ishmael” should have been Hayter. Although that would have given away the twist straight off.
