Well, for this year, I would say Adams is the obvious pick. Just baffling Arrival gets so much when she IS the movie. I get, a stacked category (see the snubs for Benning and Blunt) but she really is the biggest.

The Adams snub really is baffling. They nominate Arrival for so much but she IS the heart of the movie and yet left off. I get it, a crazy crowded field (see the snubs for Annette Benning and Emily Blunt) but still amazing they could ignore her after she scored nominations just about everywhere else.

They actually did leave her off last year, showing just how bad Rikki and the Flash was. She did have early buzz for a while, guess enough to remember.

Can't be shocked as most thought she'd get a nom for Florence (acting a bad performance is much harder than it sounds) but just annoyed she got in over Adams, Benning and Blunt. I figure it's still between Stone and Portman with Huppert a spoiler but still thought Adams was a lock for a nom but guess the Globe speech

True, does seem to be coming down to Stone vs Portman but thought she might have gone with a vote split.

Well, to be fair, Adams had been seen a sure-thing for a nom after getting one for all the other award shows, not hard to see her here.

Wow, really thought Adams at least had a nod. I get she probably would have lost anyway but at least thought her performance would get in.

Because they were basing so much of their models off of Obama, not really checking the data to see how folks weren't reacting to Hillary the same way. Plus, of course, who could have possibly guessed that rather than the first female President, 53 percent of white female voters would go for the pussy-grabber?

That SNL skit with Chris Rock and Chapelle nailed it when a white lady asks why folks didn't turn out for Hillary like Obama: "Because you were replacing a charasmatic 40 year old black man with a 70 year old white woman?"

Which is why he's driving him insane Hillary won the popular vote and drives his insistence on his inaguration being the most watched ever.

Dear God, I said it from the start, he wanted to win just to win, he had NO interest in being President and shocking so many didn't see that.

Well, you did nail it on the "Progressive bubble" majorly. I found that out in the last few weeks when I was studying reports in swing states and realized yes, Trump could take them, including Michigan (like everyone else, I never saw him getting Wisconsin). Just the feeling there (I lived in Florida, they HATE the

Hell, Red State was calling bullshit on "alternate facts." Which is hilarious given for eight years they've painted the "facts" of Obama as a narcassistic, racist, socialist who apologized for us all and a "failure" totally.

Ah and Red State summing it up nicely: "Sorry, you can't be truly Pro-Women unless you're Pro-Life."

My bad, meant to have it that the book talks about him realizing no way he'd win anyway so dropped out.

Enough fell for it to elect him. That includes the fact that given a choice between the first female President and a guy who bragged of abusing women, fifty three percent of white female voters went for the latter.

So in interesting timing, just picked up Worst. President. Ever. by Robert Strauss. It focuses on James Buchnan who really had the best credentials possible to be President; State legislator, Congressman, Senator, Ambassador and Secretary of State. He was elected in 1856…and his first year has the Great Panic economic

Yes, it sucked totally. But what else sucked? Michael Moore standing up at rally to yell "we are the majority." No, Moore, you're not. You're as full of crap with your "blue collar guy" bit as Trump is. You lie in documentaries, you live in a Manhatten apartment, walk the red carpet at Cannes, you no more represent

Great bit is Steiger chewing gum to get into character and it shows how his guy thinks. When Gillespie is excited and yelling, he chews faster. When he's deep in thought, it's slower. And when he's shocked (such as Tibbs slapping the white guy), it just stops totally to sell it. Brilliant work that deserved the Oscar.

"Cut loose PBS."
