I remember Brian K. Vaughn and Tony Harris in an issue of Ex Machina as themselves, pitching a comic to Mayor Hundred on his past as a hero. Fun bit where they meet at a fountain, Vaughn going into its history and Harris snaps "Dude, will you stop, no one else cares about this shit!"

I remember a special where he's sent to a real prison for once, courted by the Arayn Brotherhood and turns them down. "I kill, I maim but you guys are just…mean."

Well, damn. No longer Veep or POTUS, no idea how we handle season six. Selina trying to write her memoirs only to find that the public really isn't interested in hearing her story? Making a go as a TV hostess or such? I had suspected but no idea they'd go for this turn and dying to see how they make it work but sure

"Jenny…I'm the Rockateer."
"The Rocka-who?"

Captain Blood, The Sea Hawk, 1948 version of Three Musketeers.

Paramount had the brilliant idea of releasing it the same weekend as The Rock.

Another classic bit: Cliff escapes the FBI guys by grabbing the model of a large plane and using it to swing out of the hanger of Hughes' building. He runs as we see the model soar and realize it's the Spruce Goose. Cut to O'Quinn with this wonderfully goofy smile: "The son of a bitch will fly!"

I really thought Phantom was great, Zane having fun in the role and should have done better with audiences.

Just the way Sorvino says it, not going over the top, not a grand patriotic declaration, just so matter of fact.
Plus, the follow-up as he grabs a gun: "Lousy Krauts! Let em have it!" Followed by the bit where he and one of the FBI agents are firing side-by-side, pause, Valentine giving this wonderful grin before they

I did. Really surprised it didn't do well, the audience applauded Valentine's immortal line.

God, if any movie deserved to be a franchise and wasn't, this is it.

I'm always convinced this inspired one of the greatest scenes John Byrne ever did: A Batman/Captain America "Elseworlds special where they work together in 1945 as the Joker is trying to get his hands on the "Gotham Project." He does and brings it to an airfield to meet his boss…who turns out to be the Red Skull.

Just replayed these via the "Sonic Genesis Classics" pack for Xbox 360 and DAMN I forgot how insanely hard these games could be. Just keeping all the coins intact was a nightmare and those bonus levels could drive you nuts.

For the final time….
This show. THIS. FUCKING. SHOW.

Bigger cheer tonight at bars? Ramsey dying or NBA Finals?

It is notable how the "star" factor of the first movie wasn't that big. Campbell was from Party of Five, Cox was on Friends but otherwise, the cast really weren't well known (even Rose McGowan). Reminds me of a great line on the audio commentary for Never Sleep Again on how studios miss that for horror fans, it's

Christina Hendricks as part of an orgy could not save this movie, that's how bad it was.

Did like the reveal of Scream 4's killer:

Is so funny, it was basically meant as the final word on the slasher genre…and instead it spawns an entire new wave of copycats and pushes it all further on.

It was a weird time. People weren't happy with Bush but we figured like Reagan or even his dad, he might screw up but otherwise nothing massively bad to wreck this country majorly. Little did we know….
