I love that it looks like it’s wearing googles.

What, no mention of that glorious dekotora truck? I get that Powerthirst IRL liveried togue battles bring in the clicks but let’s take a minute to appreciate that little slice of Japanese car culture.

This is the shit. It also does a great job of making the case for why bikes are rad as shit. I can pretty confidently say I will never, ever own or even drive a 918 (although that would be the shit) but an R1 is VERY attainable.

Eh...I see where you’re coming from but you’re kinda stretching the comparison. Take away the #branding and #lifestyle from Deus and you don’t have much left. The fact that Bimota is making their own frames (and now a supercharger) puts them in a distinctly different tier than a custom shop whose main focus is

I dig it. Even after learning how it works, hub centered steering still seems like witchcraft. I’m a little conflicted in its application here though. From what I’ve heard hub steering really shines on the track, where the lack of feeling that usually comes from it is offset by how precise it is. Seems a little off to

Man, I picked an awkward time to start cutting up some onions.

Yeah, fuck that noise. I spent a pretty penny on a lid and I don’t care if I look like a twat at the kart track.

It’s crazy how a few judicious mods really change the Scout. I already liked the bike in stock form but man, those look great.

Or, rather, sticks in.

That’s my personal background showing up. I’m an industrial designer so I’m more used to working with solids or surfaces rather than sheet metal functions.

That’s a bingo. Way more befitting that bike without being ostentatious.

I’m certainly not advocating that they add a bunch of pointless ornamentation to it, but when you look at other aspects of the bike (like the complex surfacing on the tank, the attention to detail on the rocker covers, the very tasteful use of mesh on the heat shield on the exhaust, etc.) it’s a really jarring change

Interesting. I had to Google who bought Buell (I knew it was a metal corporation but not specifically who) and nothing came up about it the sale falling through, but I wasn’t super thorough looking at the results.

Man, I hope so. The thought of a company with the resources of Polaris making an honest-to-God American performance bike is pretty rad. It’s a shame that Buell wouldn’t be a part of it (unless Atlantic Metal Group plans to get involved) but at least someone would be doing it.

Nah, it’s not a totally out there thing to point out. I’m noticing now that the part has variable thickness so it’s not quite as simple as an extrude. I just felt like bitching about it cuz it looks a little half assed.

the type of bike that would fit a travelling billionaire that only plays the most dangerous games.

This is a shockingly cheap looking part. I get the virtue of keeping things simple, but FFS spend more than 5 minutes in Solidworks tracing the part outline then hitting “extrude 8mm”

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

Hey, that’s fucking depressing! :D

It’s stupid and pointless and oh god I have to have it, it looks like so much fun.
