I disagree. There is a huge disaffected portion of the Democratic/Liberal/Progressive base that doesnt like Clinton. Now, many of those will still vote for her, but many will not. I think its comparable to the Republicans, because they are much, much better at “falling in line” when it counts.

I think both of them should be allowed to express an opinion, even in a standup routine. And if the audience doesnt like it, they should damn well be able to express that too.

There is some irony here that Chapelle is sandbagged for being critical of Clinton at a stand up event, while Shumer is praised for degrading trump supporters doing the same thing.
