I bought a 2005 Volvo v50, 5 previous owners, from a B lot in a shady part of metro Detroit for 4800. It had 128,000 miles and the alignment was definitely off. i put $400 into tie rods and an alignment only to have the $1800 ecm blow... twice in 2 months.

Yeah. Many people have something sensible and reliable like a Camry. But the enthusiast probably takes care of it, cleans it, does maintenance on it and will still mash the pedal down on the those twisty, windy roads.
