That first episode could almost have been a parody of NPR's house style, except it wasn't self-aware enough to realize it and wasn't actually trying to be funny. I haven't returned to invisibila either. Plus, who came up with that ridiculously pretentious and idiotic name for a podcast?

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the variety of podcasts that Podmass is covering now. I find it very helpful in terms of finding good podcasts I was unaware of and finding good individual episodes worth listening to of podcasts I'm not interested in subscribing to.

I agree, and feel the same way about Grantland's Do You Like Prince Movies? podcast.

This was the best I Was There Too episode yet. So far, this is my favorite of the new Wolfpop podcasts. (I gave up on Reading Aloud and The Canon.)

Ira Einhorn? Stocking up on murderers, are we?

Poor taste is basically Franco's stock & trade. Rogen's too. Too bad Jonah Hill is joining up.

Helix was the last show I watched on SyFy. I wouldn't necessarily say it got "crazier," just more confused and nonsensical, and consequently uninteresting. It had an intriguing beginning and there was an episode or two in the middle of its season where it looked like it might get batshit fun and go somewhere crazy,

Well I'm very glad you asked because I was wondering if it is any good. Given that there is not much else on, I might give it a go … OTOH, I have a bunch of other shows stored up I haven't watched yet. Sigh.

Upvoted, because of this show's many flaws, that's the one that makes me want to throw things. The writers seem to think the show's viewers are idiots, even though they are the one's who intro'ed a character in the pilot that they promptly wrote out of the show, necessitating some screwing with the continuity and

Yeah, it was a pretty classic entrapment case. There was never any bomb.

I live in Portland now. Here, we get trumped-up "Christmas tree bombers."

While I take your point, I still sympathize with the grief and/or fear and/or sadness and/or ennui that can combine in destructive ways to make those kinds of thoughts seem almost rational. I watched the 2nd plane strike the WTC on 9/11 from the West Side Highway. Later, I found out that a couple from Lubec, Maine was

I agree they made it look pretty cool, but a big part of Tooms' creepiness was the casting — Doug Hutchison brought just the right mix of creepiness and vulnerability to the monster he became. (And naming him similarly to one of the founders of the Wobblies was a nice touch!)

A.V. Club, sometimes you try way too hard. Chill.

Thanks for the recommendation. Maybe I'll give season two a go. Despite finding what I saw of the first season's monster-of-the-week procedural format to be a bore, it is filmed in Portland, where I live, so there is at least the mild pleasure of recognition to many of the locations.

I never made it through season one of Grimm because it had a lot of the same problems Constantine has now. I guess if the latter only gets 13 episode, I will stick with it to the end because it is improving. But it's hard to imagine going back to give Grimm another chance.

That's what makes it hard to give up — I'm not particularly enjoying it at all, though last week's episode was the best so far, but I'm reluctant to give up because I feel like it has the right elements to be good.

Personally, I enjoy werewolves with rippling pecs, so I consider this a step backwards.

Yeah, some weeks I just give up because the AGENT… are too much of a chore to scroll through.

That's encouraging.
