Ohtani looks like a generational talent, but I wish you could have found space to mention the pitcher who faced him yesterday. Fernando Romero made his 3rd MLB start, going 5 innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, 6 strikeouts and 1 earned run. That was the first run he’s given up at this level, his ERA is 0.54. He’s 23.

HOW THE FUCK YOU DOIN’, BOYS?

Oh, they broke my watch!

If she really saved him from the Browns, he better wife her...

“Ditto”

Agreed. Downthread, several people have posted Sherman’s reaction to the Butler pick. But after what was obviously an upsetting moment for him, he was still the first person to congratulate Brady as the game ended.

I like your answer for #2. For #1, I’d go with, “From what I’m told, not nearly as much as you do!” with the option of adding, “And I’m way out of your league, anyway”.

If you love basketball and pop culture, they’ve got it on lockdown. As you say, the rest is lacking. But every so often something pops to make slogging through it worthwhile. Mike Pielucci’s article this week on Cody Rhodes is the best piece I’ve ever read on pro wrestling. No disrespect to Shoemaker or Bixenspan.

All I know is that WWE has great production people working for them (the framing of Cena being locked out of the Elimination Chamber with the

Because...WWE camera work. Lots of needless cuts, especially on impact (like punches landing or people going through tables). Actually makes it look less impressive and gives viewers headaches. But somebody in production is enamored of it.

The “white girl” you cited in #4 was a teenager who clearly freaked out singing in front of a big crowd. It was a really nice moment when Mo Cheeks helped her out.

It was with a K! It’s Afrikaans for “child”! :-)

There wasn’t THAT much cussing. I thought it was pretty restrained considering there aren’t any restrictions on Netflix. But yes, I loved ‘The Soup’ and having this show available makes me very happy.

You can see him thinking, “That’s five minutes of material for my next show!”

Yes, I imagined the excerpt shown as read by Ted Knight a la his ‘Super Friends’ narration.

Reminds me of Bart Starr and Lombardi at the Ice Bowl.

Me too. Man’s got a gold jacket now, have to keep it classy.
