Good catch! Middle English was gone by about 1500, so it wouldn't be impossible for people in a remote area to still speak it, but rather unlikely. Still, it was a nice plot device and one far more imaginative than most. A pity that the level wasn't maintained.

Really? His rather impressive resume makes it clear he's older, but I've had my beard for ages. I'm not against them, and they could have made it work if they'd put him in a hunting frock rather than full service dress. There are some very pithy comments on the accuracy of the costuming generally on "Frock Flicks."

A shame any way you look at it. A show that could come up with an episode in which characters spoke Middle English and Crane's wry takes on the Founding Fathers deserved better than it's gotten. My one grotch all the way through was Crane's beard: totally out of fashion for the 18th century and completely unacceptable
