I say this as a total Scarlett Johansson fan, both in general and in this role: Give me an 8-episode Netflix prequel that explores her past as an assassin, with flashbacks to the Widow program, with an up-and-coming actress in the lead and a complex and menacing female villain. And maybe young Hawkeye too. Let’s see

I think he’s preparing for the landslide loss to Hillary...

Agreed.

They’re definitely not a good advertising market, so he’d probably have to hope they can cough up $7 or so a month for a subscription.

Oh 100 percent. It would definitely have to be a subscription-based model. “The classiest and most luxurious news for only $7.99/mo. It’s yuuuuge!”

There’s definitely some truth to this. Trump’s candidacy has become a remarkable litmus test for sorting out the crazies and racists that had been hiding in plain sight in day-to-day life, as well as the most craven and self-interested among conservative media figures and politicians.

Has been said before, but bears repeating:

...the presumption that Clinton would lose a hypothetical race against Trump seems flawed to me for several reasons:

Setting aside your assertion that she’s “barely eking it out” currently, while leading in every single swing state and by several points in national polling averages, the presumption that Clinton would lose a hypothetical race against Trump seems flawed to me for several reasons:

I’m also noticing a strange double standard on io9 where Marvel gets chided for not changing their characters race while DC is just as bad with their pearly white casting (why can’t Superman or Wayne be changed up?).

No, he’s not contradicting himself. He’s saying that it’s bad enough that people expect him to only do martial arts films, but even worse that he can’t even get consideration to be the lead of those films. Marvel’s basically saying, Hey, Asian-American actor, we’d like you to be a ninja! But not the main ninja, the

If you think a 1.5 or 2 percent improvement in the national polling average this close to election day is “minuscule,” then you frankly don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ll be charitable and presume you’re just making a dishonest argument while grasping at straws instead.

Sigh. Buddy.... no difference? What alternate reality are you living in? She’s up from her pre-debate position in essentially every single national and swing state poll taken since the debate.

Disagree on Spacey and Oldman. I actually have a hard time picturing Spacey in Seven; The Usual Suspects is the role my mind jumps to for him. And Oldman, for me, disappears into anything role he plays. If I had to pick one for him, though, it would probably be the Fifth Element.

The worst-case scenario going forward would be for Watkins and the Bills to fall into “there’s a difference between hurt and injured” trap. If he spends the next 14 weeks of the season flitting in and out of the lineup while never being healthy enough to produce or hurt enough to justify a full shut down, nobody’s

It cracks me up, because io9 has one of the friendliest communities of its type.

You seem fun! It’s a shame you quit this website last week! Lucky you happened to be here today anyway, though, to save us from somebody’s opinion that is different from your own. Once you’re gone, who will police the comments and protect us from the haters?

Nah, the main point here is this: We don’t know for sure yet what impact the debate has had on this election, or Clinton’s support, simply because most polls take several days to complete. Thankfully, not as long as the “daily” LA Times poll that was the entire basis for your argument.

If what Nate Silver claims includes the LA Times, then the LA Times poll wouldn’t be called “DAILY POLL” now would it?
