Obligatory:
As a sad Knicks fan, I’m painfully aware and shame-bound to note that Toronto has New York’s pick in this upcoming draft, thanks to the (... gulp... sigh... weep) Andrea Bargnani trade. Pre-lottery it’s the eighth position, so they’ll at least have a better chance than usual to find that missing piece.
Except that’s a farce, they lose money because they choose to spend themselves into deficits on ridiculous luxuries, not because college sports are inherently unprofitable. From the Washington Post:
How about the person inflicting the violence is the problem?
The Sixers are in an objectively far superior position today than when he took over.
More of a character flaw than a hobby, but yes, absolutely.
Hinkie amassed a ton of draft picks and constantly used the 76ers’ cap room to force his way into trades and acquire small assets. There’s an irony in the fact that, with the full quiver of picks that he’s rightfully proud of coming due in the 2016 draft, the smartest move for the 76ers is having anybody but Hinkie…
You have a reasonable expectation of privacy in your home/hotel, which, yes, is being violated by D’Angelo Russell. But that’s a different issue than whether Fameolous publishing that video is also a privacy violation, as a publication of private facts, or is protected as newsworthy.
Oh, yeah, sure. Probably teaching those puppies to do vicious teeth-first takeout slides... SMDH...
As a rational human, I’m trying to remind myself that the Mets rotation is really deep and it’s only Spring.
I encountered a link to this post on Twitter, immediately after several tweets about my home state Florida Gov. Rick Scott signing new and draconian abortion restrictions into law. So, thanks for rescuing my afternoon ever so slightly. Momentary distractions FTW.
In reality, Jay Glazer or Mort would have been reading text messages about this live on air about 10 minutes after the NFL called a single team about it.
I am inclined to be skeptical, because Balzer takes his conspiracy theory even further. He intimates that the NFL instructed all the teams picking after Sam’s selection to avoid taking DE Ethan Westbrooks, who, in Balzer’s telling, the Rams would have chosen if they weren’t compelled to take Sam.
In Golden State, the big question is whether to pursue a historic 73-win season or rest up for another finals run.
As a Jets fan, I really should not be allowed to complain about this, since the Bears traded us Brandon Marshall (1,500 yards and 14 tds) for similarly low compensation last year, also basically because they disliked him personally. But, man, you’d think they might have learned something from that?
“So, if no one keeps it in check, which there is no one keeping it in check, first of all, no one wants to bite the hand that fed them or the hand that feeds them today. The only liaison we had was Joe Torre. It’s like Washington DC. Everybody starts out with good intentions. You can’t beat them, join ‘em.”
I have said out loud in public while mostly sober that I’d at least be interested to see what he could do with the Marshall/Decker WR tandem and these RBs. Related: I am trapped in a purgatory of my own design.
