The Aston Martin DB7 sourced its tail lights from a Mazda 323. Some bodywork helps reshape them to better suit the Aston’s rear end.

I see your truck and raise you a bus with 3-Series headlights.

Were you not around when Torchinsky was here? We have FAR fewer lighting-related posts than we used to.

Not a sports car, but UPS trucks have Olds Alero headlights if memory serves.

Going down a rabbit hole now...

The Aston Martin Virage used 2nd generation VW Scirocco tail lights. While confirming which Aston used VW lights I discovered that the DB7 used Mazda 323 parts.

My personal favorite: 05-06 facelift Mini Cooper R53 headlights and parking lights flipped on a Morgan.

GM didn’t care how many MR2s Toyota sold - they cared that Fiero sales fell virtually every year, plummeting from 136k annually to 27k. GM produced it as a fuel efficient two seat commuter car, it was never going to get a V8, and GM has killed every two seater they have made (except the Corvette) after five model

My wife’s 1970 Pinto was part of the safety recall, which was the installation of a plastic shield that covered the bumper pins, which could pierce the gas tank when rear-ended at high speed. The court case exploder was parked on the shoulder and was hit at 70 mph. No wonder it caught fire.

I agree with some (Corvair,Boxster, Aztec), but I can’t stand the Chevette on this list.

Not only was the Pinto not shit, neither was the Mustang II based on it.

Lido wasn’t axed over the Pinto -- he got canned after bumping heads one too many times with the Deuce.

I’d speculate that perhaps neglected fuel filters cause more issues with killing fuel pumps than running cars until the gas gauge reads empty. A clogged fuel filter causes the pump to need to work harder in order to supply the necessary volume and pressure of fuel to the engine. This in turn causes more wear and tear

Haha. My cam driven mechanical pump is immune to that!!!!

Hum, that’s why aftermarket pumps suck! LOL. Do not install an airtex pump/fuel pump module in a GM. They only last 6 mo to a year typically. Even with a clean tank, fresh fuel, and new elect terminals. I routinly install and only recommend AD Delco/Delphi fuel pumps, fuel pump module and strainers... Along with

Plus!

This is good Jalopnik. TO THE TOP!

It’s the story of everything really when you get right down to it.

Hey might want to make an exception to this. And not all are useless just the cheap ones like in this case. I know BMW, Gorilla (have them on my Camaro), and some others have it so the outer piece of the locking nut will spin if you try to put a socket on it. You can see it in these lugs below. The outer portion will

“I’ve used cheap ones, they’re fine until they’re not.”
