Renault Dauphine: Hold my Cabernet.
All-plastic hand opening kitchen trash cans are $20. All-plastic foot pedal ones are $40. Sensor ones are more like $100 or more. I recently got a mostly stainless steel all metal mechanism Simple Human one for $100 - with a foot pedal to open the top. No batteries, no sensor.
One time in Maine I had to chip my way to open the door and to the door handle on my ‘62 Lincoln in order to get to the push button. Good idea in such a climate: a garage.
Good thing no electronics or electrical connectors were involved.
Maybe they used to work at BMW.
What if it’s lying on the ground?
Forgot to mention that I was in the right lane and the left lane had plenty of space at all times. And that the cell phone thing probably doesn’t apply so much to “Hi, I’ll call you back in twenty minutes” or “I’m about a half hour away. See you soon.” but to an extended conversation.
You have to go real fast during the blank spot between flashes, right?
“played London”?
OK, but back a few years ago a C Max was a much better looking Prius with ten more cubic feet of interior volume that was quieter and rode and handled better.
Not enough room in Brooklyn for that kinda shit.
When I do go to fast food places (probably on a trip) I never drive through even if I eat in the car.
I never hear the term “defensive driving” any more, but to be safe you really do have to constantly plot out what stupid thing any of the other drivers around you might do and never assume anything. Turn signal on and slowing down means they are making that turn? Not necessarily. No turn signal means they aren’t…
At least two showed up around Northampton in recent years, so spreading in MA. I know, they are better.
My ‘18 Forester Touring has auto and auto dimming headlights included. I think you had to get up to that level to even get push button start.
I do like the auto headlights with auto dimming. A lot of GM cars have had the auto headlights for 20+ years.
I rear ended a car (not real hard) that did that once. He took off and then changed his mind. He hit the brakes just when I was glancing back to see how much room I had for merging.
How else are you supposed to watch a movie while driving?
A research study using simulators demonstrated that using the car’s speakerphone is as bad as using a hand held phone. It’s not the device or using one hand for it, it’s what’s going on in the driver’s essentially one track brain. Obviously looking at it and typing on it is worse.
