This is the interior of 28R, the Gulf liveried F1 GTR Longtail.

It started life as a GTR race car with one seat and was then converted for road use. I don't know if McLaren added the extra two seats when they worked on it or not.

But Vatanen hit the wall and Robby didn't. Robby continued to race at Pike's Peak and in 1994 set the open wheel record at 10:05.850 which, I believe, stands to this day. Comparing drivers by what is a single lap is pointless. Maybe one driver truly is better than the other, but using only this as a evidence is faulty…

Don't Forget Robby Unser. Much of the footage in Climb Dance is from his run in 1989. He was a little over a second slower than Vatanen, but it was still a magnificent performance.
