The Ward is very straight-laced, more of a psychological thriller. Good concept but just kind of a mess in its execution. To this day, I still say In the Mouth of Madness is JC’s last, best movie.

Don’t be sad: it just means you’re not a soulless husk, and you’re still capable of empathy.

Where’s Pete Best?

That’s actually impossible in normal gameplay. The hold doesn’t allow invasions or attacks in that area. However, if you jump off the balcony there’s an NPC invader who will try to kill you.

Same. Kids these days have it too good.

While GG loved his traps, it’s also worth pointing out just how much he borrowed from world mythology, and it’s entirely possible that mimics in the classic D&D sense didn’t originate with him. But as far as their presence in RPGs goes, yeah, direct lineage from D&D to Final Fantasy and similar CRPGs of various sorts.

But.. it is that chest. It’s that chest. Case by example: new Marvel movie just released in theaters. Article shows a picture of villain not announced in movie. Title says “you’re gonna hate this guy.” That’s not a spoiler, bro?

This....kinda feels like one great big “Hey, we can play this and you can’t yet.”

It’s one thing if it’s a review, but you think that maybe you could have at least waited a day or so after release before mentioning that some chests fuck you up in interesting new ways?

Is there any reason you’re going out of your way to make sure that parts of this game that surprised, delighted, or otherwise had an effect on you don’t have these intended effects on other players?

Can you guys just hold your horses? The game is not even out in some countries for fuck sake.

“And how is that any different from any other game there is? Most games absolutely work on that level, especially as games move more and more into the live service sphere.”

Do they? People spend real money on fake slot machine apps (i.e. which don’t pay out real money) all the time, and there’s no argument to be made that those games are “fun” beyond the gambling dopamine rush.

The only products I can think of that Google didn’t bail on and were slow on the uptake is it’s office productivity suite.

Watch out, some day “virtual cucking” will become an actual trend.

Having been a pirate in the 90's, yes, WAREZ is an actual word and it’s even in some dictionaries.

Kind of lame.

I just rolled credits on Death’s Door yesterday. I think it would make my list, too, though I’m not sure where to rank it...

I wrote out a long explanation of what actually happened here, but then realized it’s Christmas Eve.

Hey uh, mind sharing some evidence that this actually happened before we rush to cancel an indie dev for a cool niche game? I can’t find a single thing about it other than people saying it’s a rumor that she spread herself after getting negative responses to her blogpost. Obviously things can be deleted, but the Dev
