Ditto. I’m glad I read this article and the twists and details sound cool, but frankly the game was just too punishing without being interested at all in accessibility for gamers with different lifestyles or aging reflexes. I don’t feel ripped off or hoodwinked by getting the game, but I also don’t buy the screeching

“There’s nothing like American ground beef, Charles.”

And I’m sure the baby-thing has got to have some vore fetishist out there uncomfortably excited

As someone who is terrified of true video game horror, I had to look up what happened in House Beneviento when I found it, as I’d seen some references to how messed up it was on reddit. Honestly now I think I’m even more terrified, knowing I’m going to have to face that baby-thing. Ugh.

I’m torn. While part of me would adore a new Chrono game, I feel like it has be done very carefully if they intend to touch upon any of the old games. And if it’s a new universe and new characters... well, that’s cool too, but Chrono Trigger was so epic that I’m not sure how they’d come up with a plot that didn’t

I mean, I was just making a Zoolander reference more than seriously suggesting what the larger size could or should be. I think for the goal of Lego sets like this, the size fits their design philosophy, I’m just imagining one of those insanely large custom builds that I’ve seen for things like Hogwarts.

What is this?? A haunted dollhouse for ants? It has to be at least.... three times bigger than this!

I can appreciate this view, though I think it’s has just been more overdone in RE8 so far than anything else (I just finished the castle). I’m not a fan of gore but I can live with it, I just don’t get how Ethan is able to do anything when his hands are all sliced and bitten up. I mean it’s certainly not the most

Every day we stray further from god’s light

For a quick-and-dirty explanation, this was great. Well done!

Sounds more like OP doesn’t like first person. Which is fine, I don’t like third person RE games, so I’m grateful RE8 is first person.

You know your argument is right when you have to silence everyone who disagrees with you.

Yep. Add trophies for the people want to be hardcore, watermark in-game screenshots, whatever--let the people who need to beat a hard game to demonstrate their value have their pride flair and let everyone else actually enjoy a fun, beautiful game.

Whoopsie

Gatekeeping is sadly very real in all aspects of life. Those born rich with a silver spoon in their mouths knock others down so they can’t reach their level of comfort. In-the-know artists feed and use their industry connections to get them and their peers work at the expense of new voices. Gamers fight to keep games

My guess is, like so many other things, people aren’t actually reading the source complaints and are just filling in the gaps with their own assumptions. Aka basically so much of what has been wrong with media and people’s interpretation of it this past decade.

What does saving have to do with difficulty? People aren’t proposing save states, they’re proposing be able to pause your progress, save it, and return later to pick up where you left off. It’s a game, not a marathon—forcing players to put up with long time commitments and exhaustion isn’t where Returnal’s challenge

People will make the distinction that Hades is a “roguelite” rather than a “roguelike” due to its many perma-progression systems, but I really did appreciate that no run ever felt wasted in Hades; at the very least I was collecting currencies that I could parlay into unlocks and upgrades.

Nope. An assist mode would really broaden the appeal though, and allow players to experience the game in the most enjoyable way (for them) possible. If the devs are worried people will turn it on too quickly without “getting it”, they should just do a time-gate on its unlock or something so that players get to

I cracked and bought it after ranting in comments that I wouldn’t. It’s very pretty, with some nice polish, and with great haptics. It’s also got a save issue and bugs (apparently, I haven’t hit one yet), which makes me feel like the $70 is a little steep.
