As a massive fan of that soundtrack (and Mitsuda’s otherwork) this really bugs me. He’s not a footnote in the story, he *is* the story here.

Wait, did you think Cloverfield Lane was finished up well? It went on for 20 minutes too long and absolutely should have ended with the protag (I forget her name) stepping outside and seeing an alien ship in the distance. The fight that followed almost destroyed an otherwise fantastic movie.

It absolutely needed a 30 minute cut. It was almost offensively long.

Exactly. I don’t have the allegiance to the OT that some fans do, but I grew up reading enough of the EU novels and playing the roleplaying D&D-esque SW game enough to really get a feel for how the force takes shape in different characters and in different settings.

Sure, there’s whining and that’s exhausting. But I do agree the game isn’t particularly fun since D1. I hardly need to be the strongest, but considering I’m playing as an immortal space guardian I would like to actually feel powerful. As it stands, I feel like some low-level corporate employee of actually strong space

Amen. With D2 being nowhere near as alluring as D1, I am sad-but-thankful that it’s gone this way.

Wonderful way to put it. I, for one, learned something new and interesting about a culture I already liked.

It’s definitely hypocritical and I think his rant points a very important point about underdogs: being an underdog (or a victim, depending on the situation we’re talking about) doesn’t automatically make a person inherently more pure or better than whoever was belittling them.

To be honest, sometimes I just don’t have the energy, desire, or time to play a game but I would like to see footage and I would like to see a particular personality engaging with the game. Platforms like Twitch scratch that (tw)itch for me.

Because we’ve fostered a society where it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission, and allowed individuals to flourish in this society so that by the time they have to answer for their behavior they already have wealthy, power, or both which makes it much easier for them to mitigate the fallout.
