“I love my Trans friend I just think they are abominations that shouldn’t exist” - what Rowling’s is really saying

J. Karen Rowling

What I’m seeing is a distrust of media and public health officials. A lot of people have been brainwashed with “fake news” so those that haven’t had Covid or known a lot of people that have, just assume it’s another hoax.

I’m seeing a lot of that here as well, our meat packing plants were hit hard, but those are mostly staffed by minorities. We were an epicenter in our state, but since most of the sick and dying weren’t white, a lot of people I know didn’t know/believe Covid 19 was a problem.

I assume we’ll be on the third wave by fall, the second wave should hit us in earnest before the end of the month.

This virus will alter this country forever.

I will hunt a mother fucker down if they even think of messing with this guy! As a child of color I grew up in shit neighborhood with a shit school system that was just passing me on through the grades. I was in the 3rd grade and I could not read. His show, was the one thing that made me want to learn to read.

Rightwing media will spin literally anything, so there’s no sense worrying about them spinning any specific thing.

Michigander, here. They are mad that they had complete control of state government for eight years...and now that don’t. They are also pissed that the public prefers Governor Whitmer’s handling of the crisis by 60-to-70% every time the question is polled, while Trump has a net negative in the state on his handling of

Black and brown protestors would have been shot the moment they left their house with such firepower.

They aren’t protesters. They’re domestic terrorists.

Let’s recall, again, how peaceful protestors are treated when the target of the protests is, ya know, tuition increases that might push them out of school or drive them into perpetual debt?

You know damn well if black or brown protesters showed up at the capital building armed and yelling, there would have immediately been tear gas deployed and officers with itchy trigger fingers surrounding the scene.

Personally, I find it to be less the website’s tone but this author in particular. There have been numerous complaints in the comments about the things she writes and the tone she uses.

So Watson uses her spotlight to spotlight things and, as per usual, Jezebel decides the best course of action is a snark piece.

You really ought to change the tagline of the blog from “A Supposedly Feminist Website” to “Not Even Really Pretending to Be A Feminist Website”.

I posted this as a reply to a reply on your last barf bag. I’m gonna add to it.

A few things from a person on the ground in Michigan:

I usually don’t have time to read the Kotaku features, so I fully expected to browse the first couple of paragraphs and move on.

Whenever I sit for a second and think about how many people must be spending however many hours of their lives in a coordinated plan to lower the average score on a film review website of a movie they haven’t seen, in a series they probably otherwise like, just because it has a woman in it… I mean, they do know
