It was very superficial Hollywood. I read the book and watched the series. The series added several sex themes that were not in the book. Typical Hollywood additions.

Laura Dern would have put her child in a private school. There is no way she would continue to allow her child to be bullied. This is not realistic.

And all the parents just happened to be standing around at the same time and the same place?

Also why wouldn't she just take her child out of the school and put her in a private school if she was really worried she was being bullied? That makes no sense.

And why would Dern not put her child in a private school if she though she was being bullied?

100% true-this would never happen like this.

One female cliche after another. Perhaps a good beach read but nothing more. Total chic lit. And I thought the TV show incorporated way more sex than what was in the book which to me made it seem very "Hollywoody".
