I hope you love it! I added my favorite smoothie bowl recipe to my profile here. It’s slightly more complicated than Alexis’s, but you can sub in any frozen or fresh fruit and greens to this.

Lighter was built to be a tool for just this. One of the most useful parts on the site is the interactive grocery list that you can use on your phone in the store, which is linked to the recipes users can pick based on their preferences, allergies, cooking time etc. It’s the only way I can stay organized when shopping

“Nice” cream (essentially a banana soft serve) with chocolate chips!

Yes to both! I eat them whenever I feel like it, often for breakfast, sometimes for lunch if I need something really quick.

I’m so glad to hear it, David! I hope you love it. :)

Alexis Answering: Great! Enjoying the chat!

Alexis Answering: Unlike Micah, I am not a huge fan of cooking and am always looking for fast meals. This summer I am OBSESSED with smoothie bowls. They take less than 5 minutes and enjoying them is like indulging in a big bowl of ice-cream without any guilt. Here is an example of what I put in a smoothie bowl (you

Alexis Answering: TMM! You are in the same boat as so many in our community. We love this question and get it all the time. So, we profiled some super parents who don’t have much time to cook but also want to make sure they are fueling their families with healthy food. We suggest you read these super parents stories

My greatest source of cooking inspiration and recipe development for Lighter (and my personal life) comes from all over the world. Plant-based dishes are actually very common everywhere, so the diversity in plant-based cooking is not only an old practice, but one that’s been perfected over the years! Borrowing

I’m not very familiar with this diet, so I’m not sure I can address this accurately. However, I do think that a diet full of vegetables, beans, nuts, and seeds can offer incredible benefit to many people. One thing I try to do is to eat lots of different colored vegetables every day.

There are so many options! My favorite source of protein that’s also low in carbohydrates are legume based products. Lentils are an incredible source protein and minerals, like iron. Dried lentils cook pretty quickly, but if you’re looking for something faster, there are also canned lentils and one of my favorites-

I’d say about 20 minutes on 350F. You can also speed this up by sautéing on the stovetop, or you can skip this step completely. It turns out great either way!

There are a few bases for recipes that I really love. The first is nut-base, like peanut butter or blended cashews. Mix one of those up with seasoning, an acid like vinegar or lemon, and thinned out with water. My daughter loves a peanut sauce made with a little bit of peanut butter, water, apple cider vinegar, ground

Hi merkitten, I LOVE tempeh! In fact, one of my favorite summer recipes is a tempeh salad. First, I marinate the tempeh in soy sauce or tamari, then I bake it until it caramelizes around the edges a bit. After that, I chop it up and mix it with my favorite mayo, Just Mayo, plus red onion, celery, and a little bit of
