I really hope they get to God Emperor.

Most excellent. For I have drunk dangerously deep of the Water of Life, and in all timelines besides the one where “Dune: Part Two” gets made - the Filmed Path, as it were - humanity goes extinct.

See, now all I want is for Part Two to end with “Weapon of Choice” as the closing credits.

I think the best one I’ve seen is put the mouse on top of a “normal” wrist watch.  The ticking will vibrate the mouse enough to keep it awake and active

You know we live in a capitalist dystopia when an article like this gets written

You sure about that? Every job I’ve ever had for the last 10+ years has had me signing a ream of papers upon starting. Many of those included some sort of agreement saying I wouldn’t work for someone else “on company time”. Which is somewhat specific, but honestly much of the US is “at will” anyway, so they don’t

Then there was a guy I read about a few years who while working remotely actually outsourced his own job to a Chinese software development company, paying them out of his own salary and keeping the rest. He eventually got caught because he wasn’t using a VPN, so his employer found out people were using his login

Maybe just paying homage to the fact that the car is american?

Excellent post... far better and more informative than the article. Kudos!

I hate replying to my own reply, it makes me feel like I’m going to go blind or get hairy palms.

Honestly I feel like your post should be added to the article. I’ve lived abroad for 10 years or so and I agree that there’s worse things than “Time differences” or “laws are not the same”. Honestly these are the most important/unexpected problems they could come up with?

One other thing, even if you have a high-degree of fluency in a foreign language, working in a foreign language, corresponding in that language, and doing your day-t0-day conversations in that language is exhausting.
It takes a long-time to make that jump to feeling normal in your non-native tongue.

I’ve worked all over the world. For the last 20 years, I’ve traveled between 50-75% of the time. But this is only my second time to live permanently outside of the USA.

Here’s an easy tip that got me exit row for three flights, including to Hawaii and back:

You’d just be rolling the dice that there’d actually be a) a seat and b) no one of a higher status than you.

This is basically what they do already. It may not be for the 1st tier loyalty members, but certainly for the higher tier ones. I’d wager half the first class seats on any given flight are probably upgrades.

I choose to identify as “no one” so I find the use of the term “everyone” (as offered by the article) to be deeply exclusionary and offensive. I demand that the universe conform to my feelings. This is a reasonable position for me to take.

It should be, “welcome everyone and no one”... thus making it a pointless

It’s not that it probably doesn’t work.

yeah.  I have an upcoming trip, we booked our tickets months ago.  Unless you are offering me better seats, im not moving.  Fuck that woman for not booking her tickets in advance.  I spent the time to make sure i got a good price on a flight of my choosing and had my choice of seats where i wanted.  Someone who didnt

Joule thief!
