Hahahaha they stopped after the first six episodes. Right after which the show suddenly becomes transcendentally good and you realize what came before was subtle scene setting. Pay no heed to a review of a show based on half a season.

Maybe they meant "it's almost over" as in "the police will be here soon, just keep your shit together until then"?

One thing I didn't quite get - if Erin was supposed to be the witness, what of Zee? Was she to die too?

Top of the Lake took my breath away more than once. Powerful, beautiful, searing show.
