I go by “subtact 1 from the number you are multiplying by 9. That’s your 10 column. Then subtract that number from 9 to get the 1 column”
So 5*9 ... 5-1=4 and 9-4=5 so 45
0r 8*9 ... 8-1=7 and 9-7=2 so 72
