I’d go for a used EV like a Leaf or 500e. Perfect for a short commute. Charge it at home and never visit a gas station again.

Except it was a Volvo 240.

I suspect we’ll see the autonomous features subsidized by ad revenue. Google and Apple are investing in this stuff because of how valuable your eyeballs are pointed at their content rather than at the road.

When I was about 5 my parents took me to see Cheech & Chong's "Up in Smoke" at the drive-in.  The scene where the dog sniffs the van and passes out (drops dead?) made a big impression on me for some reason.  The only other thing I remember about it was my dad laughing hysterically throughout.

To me, making fun of the videos was the best part of the show. This was made painfully clear to anyone who ever saw the DVD versions where all of the music videos had been taken out. Something about the royalties, I guess.

I find it interesting to see this coming out the same week as the new Conor Oberst album…I saw them live when they opened for Bright Eyes at a show outside of Omaha back in 2005. Also noteworthy that both are now no longer with their label. (What's up w/Saddle Creek?)
