Im making that move right now too.  The non stop outages, hardware discontinued with no warning for almost a year of no stock, and horrible "smart" routines made me setup a home assistant server with a zwave/zigbee USB stick. Holy crap how awesome it is and FAST!!!!

I quit 5 months ago cold turkey as well. Coke was all I would drink. I got more energy (after the withdraws), and lost 20lbs within weeks of quieting.

Winter never arrived! 90+ weather here now and all winter was 60's and 70's

Exactly. I’ve owned many Pit Bulls. They are the most loving dogs I’ve even owned. Its all in how they are raised.

I had a Corgi but developed IVDD. At the same time, I had a Pit-Mastif mix. They were best friends and could not be away from each other. The pit is a big 115lb boy, but the biggest baby. I love Pit’s and smaller dogs too.
