Very well written article - and true! I rode dirt bikes on and off as a kid. but I started out as a squid-type (but was a total nerd) at 18. First bike I called my own was a crotch rocket. Then started watching and hearing about friends getting killed or maimed while riding that way. Bought a helmet, taking more care

As an Ecodiesel owner, but not a RAM fanboy, I’m delighted to hear this. But didn’t Ford write off a light duty diesel when the Ram ED was announced saying something to the effect that the Ecoboost engines were better than diesel? Maybe their focus groups finally told them that a lot of people like the diesel clatter

But what about the warranty?!?! Oh wait, I guess you can continue to use the Range Rover’s warranty...

UAW parking lots often have signs like this around. The only time I parked my foreign* vehicle in a UAW parking lot was for a funeral of a higher-up UAW leader. I didn’t have any problems.

*foreign manufacturer but made it USA.

Because they can’t find the bodies!

You should’ve done an Iron Butt-sanctioned ride to help prepare you. I did just the entry-level one at 1,000 miles in 24 hours. It shows you PDQ that it ain’t for everyone! Just a few hours into mine and I thought “what in the hell am I doing?!?! This is going to be one helluva long day!” That might have put it in

They practically did. But it wears an Audi (A3) badge..

I’ve driven the Insignia Sports Tourer in Germany. While it drove and handled nicely, it needs some suspension modifications for it to be considered “sporty”.

This shit happened all the time when I was in Chicago, particularly around University of Chicago. I daydreamed several times about smashing out a window or the like. But then I realized that wouldn’t be worth demeaning myself to their level. But I did wish the worst for those people.

Isn’t there legal jargon that the specs can change at any time? Hopefully Mr. Lehto can weigh in.

On a side note, it makes sense. I’m surprised that a 3.08 rear end, no matter the engine would be listed as being able to pull >9,000 lbs. That’s a lot of strain on that pinion gear!

That’s why I complain via the NHTSA website. Of course, this really is only for safety concerns, but post GM ignition fiasco, it seems to have some merit. It prompted FCA to dig further into an intermittent airbag light. Traced to freyed wiring in the rollover airbag.

I hope this acquisition goes through.

I’ve been saying this about black cars for years now but no one listens to me...

I definitely am looking forward to your review! Be interested in any additional “fun facts” or how effective the selectable torque control is in the dir (and I suppose, streetside as well). Interested in how it stacks up against the Beemer GSA’s (800 and 1200) since I’ve been eyeing them prior to seeing that the Twin

Original Fiat 124 Spider. Leaves plenty of room for another vehicle since some of the complete restorations are running $25kish. And **if** the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider makes it here, you know old guys with money will want a pristine “classic” one to go alongside their new one, driving up values more. I mean, look what

It’s the black metal thing under the rear seat :)

As a current owner, I can say that if you want a Swiss Army Knife of bikes but don’t have the moola or desire to have an upmarket bike, you shouldn’t be disappointed. It is relatively slow compared to other bikes but it’s still fun as hell on my commute and in the twisties. It does well up to 80mph but peters out

From a relatively hidden storage standpoint only. It definitely isn’t fast enough to outrun the police/motorola, let alone an economy car.

My only (but was bad) just happened this past September. I just left work with my father-in-laws museum quality ‘86 Goldwing with 10,400-some-odd miles on it. He was letting me borrow it for a 1,000 mile ride because he thought I was nuts riding my N700X that far (I had just completed an IBA ride a week prior). I had
