Came expecting Changli; left disappointed.

How can these be “a formidable piece of automotive history” when there is no information on their history?

Good choice. I had a ‘68 Cougar that was white with the blue vinyl top and blue interior. It had the 302. It was just a great vehicle all around.

I’m OK with aftermarket wheels like that so long as the originals come with the car in the sale. Thankfully, that’s the case, here!

This is like a modern version of my ‘93 civic Si.  The Si had 125hp (SOHC 1.6L) and weighed a sprite 2500 lbs.  Does it come with a manual?

Trim strip is missing from Driver’s side front fender. Still might be the best one currently for sale. Definitely CP

NEP (nice enough price). Genuine question: Do carmakers really save money by using random bits from the parts bin? Seems an odd limit for designers..

The service reminders were actually attached to the odometer. You could reset them by putting your key in the provided slot after service. They didn’t light up, but were little wheels that were painted black, then yellow, then red.

I owned a ‘91 Topaz 2-door back in the day. Base car with a/c and 5-speed manual. It still has the distinction of shortest tenure in my garage of any car I’ve ever owned.

That was my thinking too, why swap in a oil burner when theres so many great petrol options from VW.  Its like taking a small block V8 out of a 67 Camaro and installing a Iron Duke 4 banger, it can be done, but why ?

Ha!

Yep. At Chrysler, Lutz knocked the ball out of the park with the ‘94 Dodge Ram design. It started the whole “Big Rig” look. Lutz said he wanted “something people either loved or hated”. Apparently Ford loved it because the copied it shortly thereafter.

A couple years ago Elon asked on twitter what features people would want in the cybertruck. As a tradesman I listed off a bunch of things that would make the truck sell at an insane rate and completely destroy the big 3s commercial light duty market. Fast forward to the cybertruck announcement, and he did the exact

No, Elon, the CyberTruck looks like it was designed by an early-’80s SFX artist’s idea of what a truck designed by aliens from the future would look like. There is a difference.

It’s slow as molasses, but these things are cockroaches and it has another 20 years in it, easy. This here is smart money for people who realize occasionally needing a truck is no reason to drop $40k on a new one, and the price is about what they go for.  NP.

I went right to stereotype mode. If you ask me who was at fault in a crash between a new Civic Type R and a mid aughts (I think) Volvo, I’m gonna say the Type R driver was at fault. No offense Type R owners, but we’re talking about the ultimate boy racer car versus the official car of America’s Sociology professors.

If your motorcycle isn’t scary - its time to sell it. That’s how you know you’ve become complacent. And IMO that’s probably when you’re most likely to die on it - when you forget how dangerous it really is.

I started with a Suzuki GS250 twin that I bought for $200. Just like this one.

Hell, 80 horsepower is more than enough on most bikes to get yourself into trouble with.

I have a ‘12 CBR1000RR in the garage that should be good for 160-170hp. No traction control, no ABS, no riding modes. Every time I get on it I’m reminded I’m sitting on a missile and the weak link is the guidance system.
