A fair number of them (Chrysler products, especially), turn one of the DRLs off when the signal is activated on that side ...

The fact they don’t make vehicles with pop-out rear windows (I used to call them “fly windows”) any more drives me bonkers. It’s relatively inexpensive to do, and it provides an excellent source of airflow without a ton of noise. (it’s also great for sucking unwanted flying insects out the back of the vehicle)

NP - for some teenager looking for a “cool” first car, and willing to spend some time wrenching themselves.  It might last a year or two before something serious fails, or they wrap it around a pole.

Something about this car says “driven hard, put away wet”.

Mine is just from a really weird walk ...

Your left leg would be slightly stronger than your right after a while.

I’ve always assumed that the NA drift towards automatics had more to do with the godawful traffic jams that started to take over major urban areas in the 60s. A standard in prolonged heavy traffic (and many in major centres have multiple hour long commutes to get to work) can be a miserable experience.

One of my pet criticisms of companies like Tesla is the inevitable desire to “disrupt” by changing every goddamn thing they can think of.

Not that I’m aware of. I think the deal is “here’s a ticket for $1,000 for playing tourist, now leave the country”. (I doubt they expect the ticket to be paid, but that will sit in the immigration database for a long time ... as will the inevitable bench warrant when the ticket is unpaid )

Canada has some fairly harsh penalties for violating the federal quarantine laws.  I suspect that charges on that wouldn’t be laid unless someone didn’t comply once told to leave.

Yes, they do that.  Once any disputes are resolved, seized vessels are turned over to one agency or another for disposal.  There is a government auction website that also gets used for disposing of surplus and obsolete assets.

Trust me, actual Canadians know what’s up here.

I’d also like to point out that the regulations also stipulate that if you are equipped with an AIS, you are required to have it turned on at all times.

All very nice - but at the end of the day, someone crossing the border into Canada is responsible for reporting to CBSA. Coming across in a pleasure craft, or swimming, doesn’t make a damn bit of difference.

That V12 is old enough to vote. That it’s still intact and hasn’t peed oil all over the engine compartment is an accomplishment at this point.

The mentioned problems seem like fairly small potatoes given the age of the car and Jaguar’s reputation for being ... finicky.

Like we all get to choose what job we are doing when a pandemic hits.

    a) You get paid double or better what a grocery store worker makes.

I liked these trucks when they were new. They sat nicely between the truly small body S-10s and Rangers, and the full size pickups. The styling on this generation is similar to the Dodge Ram of the era, and that’s one of Chrysler’s styling highlights for me.
