    CP.

Ironically, a 6502 likely could not be clocked up to 1.6 Ghz mostly because there are inevitably going to be unresolvable logic race conditions in the chip that would be magnified by the increased clock speed.

NP - if you’re in the market for a decent starting point for a restoration project. This looks like all the bits are there, and (for 40 years in) reasonably well sorted.

I had no idea the diesel variants even made over to NA.

W/out a clear diagnosis (or at the very least the readout from the OBD interface), I’m not buying what he’s dropping off here.

I believe the correct answer to this kind of proposal is “are you fucking stupid”?

The best seats I’ve ever experienced occurred in two cars:

Using it as a hunting blind is novel, but it doesn’t make the car itself the weapon used to kill their victims.  It’s certainly part of the M.O. though.

Let’s see - it’s well sorted, a manual transmission, and theft proof.

The Meteor was sold in Canada through to at least 1976.

Random thought:  if the auto industry generally tanks over the next 12 months, maybe that makes a good time to change the landscape of production.  We often bemoan the dominance of crossovers and pickup trucks on this site, maybe the time has come for NA (especially) to look towards different classes of vehicle that

That would be a candidate too.

Ford’s “egg crate” front grills weren’t that pointy after the mid-70s - the angle between the two sides was almost flat.

Well - there’s still a few floating around. (Somewhat to my surprise)

I’m very much of the opinion that you yank the original carb and the morass of vacuum hoses off and replace it with a decent Weber unit.  (at least if you’re planning on driving the thing with any regularity)

I don’t care what body and interior you put on these things.  They’re straight up CP.  It might be tarted up with slightly better trim, but at the end of the day it’s not one of GM’s highlights.

    A 3.0L 4?

Pretty much anything would have been an improvement on the NA Fairmont (or the Granada, come to that).

I thought the Festiva was more of a Ford - Mazda collaboration. (Certainly the interior was clearly Mazda designed - including using the orange lit gauges that Mazda used in the 80s).
