I would cut this sociopath out of my life like cancer. What’s wrong with you?!

You can find the full texts online. She’s a monster. She bullied him into doing it. So she could be seen as the ailing gf for awhile.

Yup! She knew it was wrong, and continued on her course. She even tried to get the deceased to delete the text thread to cover her tracks.

Yeah they must have a damage control strategy at best. It’d be easier to argue that regardless of her actions, she bears no responsiblity for his actions than it would be to argue that she didn’t understand what she was doing.

She should be scorned not because she is a psychopath/sociopath but because she, by her own admission, knew what she was doing was morally and legally wrong and still continued to manipulate him to go through with the act. Mental health is a tricky thing but it is pretty difficult for me to believe that this wasn’t a

You seriously must be trolling. Armchair psychologist? Look in the mirror, friend, we are the same.

Agreed, author is being way too kind to her, making it seem like she is just some fragile girl who thought she was doing the right thing, if anyone has even a slight interest in this they should look for more info, it is clear this girl knew what she was doing.

I think they will have a hard time proving that she didn’t know it was wrong, since some of her texts had to do with hiding it from other people. She knew that they were doing something society would not accept. And after he died, she went on an anti-suicide campaign to rake in lots of glory.

If you have the stomach for it, read some more about it. It gets worse the more you read.

Same. I’m not sure if they have the grounds to convict her legally, but even if not she’s absolutely a huge fucking asshole.

Let’s dispel once and for all with this fiction that Michelle Carter didn’t know what she was doing. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing.

We should send her to ISIS or ISIL or whomever takes in these sorts.

This seems like textbook manslaughter. She willfully engaged in behavior that was likely to cause someone’s death. Legal insanity questions if she knew what was right or wrong at the time. The very fact she was worried about being caught means she knew what she was doing was wrong. Guilty. The End.

She was charged with involuntary manslaughter which isn’t necessarily what most people think of when they think of murder - basically, reckless or negligent conduct that the defendant knew was dangerous which ended up resulting in an unintentional death. So for example, a person who is driving 100 mph on a rainy night

Agreed. Her actions were not those of someone whose mental health is in question (other than her perhaps being a sociopath).

I am rarely in favor of anyone getting out of anything with an insanity defense. Unless you are so fucking out of your mind that you cannot fathom the concepts of legal vs illegal / harm vs safety, you need to pay for your crimes. This girl might be messed up in the head but she knew what she was doing and appeared to

Yep. Well, she had one other concern making sure she milked his death for as much Facebook sympathy as possible.

The author softened things up a fair amount even. Read up on it some more and you’ll feel even stronger about it I’m sure.

I don’t live in Mass, but in a former life I was a reporter who covered local court cases. A friend of mine sent this one along to me and I have followed it ever since. It is alarmingly obvious that she slowly eroded his inhibitions down to the point where he acted on taking his own life.

I understand that mental

Living in Massachusetts, I have been following the case since her arrest and what she did was seriously messed up.
