Re: tourniquets, if you’re seeing bright red blood and/or it’s spurting (maybe gushing is a better word) out in time with the heartbeat, skip the direct pressure crap and put a tourniquet on it. Fifteen minutes is more than enough time to bleed out from a major artery.
