What you say is generally true but “it depends”. Fox Mustangs, for example, worked much better with a stiff front bar because the front camber curve was so bad. Way back when I raced SpecRX7s, we put a big bar up front and sometimes disconnected the back for the same reason.

Huge thread on a Mustang board with timeslips. Well driven supercharged GTs on slicks are in the 10s and even high 9s. There are a lot of them. Also plenty of non FI cars in the 11s.

I think the EB is a nice package but 12.9@103 with drag radials is not comparable to 12.9@110 with stock tires. 7mph is a huge gap. Guys are apparently running low 11s with tires and the usual bolt-ons with the GT.

Esprit engines are very stout. The transaxles less so (but fine in the 4cyl cars).

There’s no reason to fear these cars. The electrics are primarily Delco. I had a ‘95 S4s for about 6 years and it was a great car that I still miss. My dad had a ‘94 MR2 Turbo that I volunteered to do the head gasket on. So many cascading to-remove-this-remove-that-first parts. IIRC, the shop told me book labor was 14hr. They were so happy when I told them I decided to do it myself.

Lots of mid-engine Ferraris are like that. The bearing and slave are a single unit (they call it a clutch release bearing). Book labor is 12hr on a 360.

Of course, your typical Italian can’t actually afford either one. Average household income is 1/2 of the United States.
