My take on the UAW President’s salary is completely different: he only makes $162k as president of an organization with 500,000+ members and 1.2 billion dollars in assets?

Nope again. :) Tesla’s web site shows July delivery for an X ordered today. Plenty of people did wait forever but either the queue wasn’t as deep as was thought or a lot of people changed their minds.
Is your girlfriend able to use a hair dryer? The standard L1 EVSE pulls the same amount of current. It easily charges overnight while you sleep or, um, whatever.
For all the crap GM gets, they really know how to build a car to a schedule. Yeah, the Model 3 looks nice but unless you work for SpaceX you can probably do a 36 month lease of a Bolt before you’ll see one.
Could be. We’ll never know the real story.
Tesla hired plenty of automotive industry veterans but it’s notable that neither of the guys resigning had an automotive background. Maybe they were not taking the advice of the vets?
“The reason we need those specific Compaq laptops is that they run a bespoke CA card which is installs into them,” a fellow from MSO told me. “The CA card is an interface between the laptop software (which is DOS based) and the car.”
I’ve always been under the impression they are funding the extended CPO warranty this way. The “certification” business is mostly nonsense - they (and ultimately the consumer) are buying a warranty through the manufacturer.
I’m sure it’s lower production numbers. It’s not worth the cost to tool up to manufacture windshields with such low demand.
FWIW, I happen to (painfully) know that a 360/430 windshield is $5622.92, installed.
Only if they have positive equity!
Holy crap. People are crazy.
That’s the way to do it. Make an effort to invest the difference on a regular schedule.
An XKR Jaguar is probably a better bet if you can find one. The XK8 has the failure-prone ZF 5HP24 transmission. The A-drum fails and takes a bunch of stuff with it, if memory serves. The XKR has a much beefier Mercedes transmission.
This may be unpopular (though perhaps not on this site) but even if the study is accurate, I have a hard time getting worked up over 1,650 deaths/year in a nation of 300+ million people.
Volts get the full rebate too.
IKEA tech tip: Always tape the allen wrench in an inconspicuous space after assembly.
Hope you can flag them like on Strava.
I 1/2 saved this one. It’s an ‘87 Lotus Turboesprit, purchased non-running from behind a warehouse in 2006 for $5000. I knew the owner and had helped him troubleshoot the car a few times so I knew it wasn’t blown up. I got it running, replaced the rear main seal, the rear brakes, undid 20 years worth of hacked up…
That sucks. I have 2 years/30k miles worth of no-more-aggravation-than-a-contemporary-BMW out of mine. At 135k now.
