Last year, just over 50,000 cars were sold in the US with plugs. No, they were not all BEVs - the Volt and Plug-in-Prius accounted for more than 1/2 of them. Still, my little brain finds that astonishing. 3 years ago, the number was nearly zero.

That's a very reasonable evaluation, I think. I've been wrong twice so far though. I didn't think the Roadster would ever get past the prototype stage.

Funny, I broke EVERY SINGLE HF impact socket I used. I broke the 17mm taking off lugnuts with an 18" breaker bar!

It had 92 hp and weighed 2600lbs. A Cruze Eco weighs 500lbs more, has 50% more hp and is almost identically sized inside (chevy.com and autos.msn.com research). 43mpg hwy with the modern test. 50+ IMHO tested to the mid-80's standard.

"We presume this lofty mileage aspiration was assuming the Celebrity buyer opted for the 2.5 liter Iron Duke Inline 4 and only drove on downhill highways going 46 miles an hour."

I paid $5k for a non-running 50k mile '86 in '06. Ebay'd it for $8900 after less than $500 in parts and some TLC. The paint was faded and the interior rough but it was solid and a strong runner. $17500 is just way high for that car, nice as it appears to be. Noone will pay that much.

hmmm..try again.

I paid $5k for a non-running 50k mile '86 in '06 and sold it for $8900 on ebay after a bunch of work and maybe $500 in parts. It was a cosmetic rat, granted, but a very good runner. Sorry to say but $17500 is hopelessly optimistic for this car.
