I wasn't clear. I was referring to Bible themed movies. I did enjoy and purchased The Passion of Christ, but I did notice it overemphasized Mary, which bends the biblical text.
Christian productions are improving to my appreciation.

If the purpose of creating a movie is entertainment, and the movie becomes a success because it obviously is, then there's a disconnect between the criticism and the overall "effective" factor.
This movie is doing very well, considering the market, and this reviewer is dumping hard on it. He reminded me of several other occasions where critics hate the movie, while the producers are laughing on their way to the bank. That's all.

WE are the best critics of THESE type of movies. Otherwise, they would all be blockbusters. Most of us rejected the The Bible TV series because of stupid Hollywood style Ninja angels.
Correct. The gospel in this movie is presented in simple illustrations for the simple minded victims of the indoctrination perpetrated by today's "institutions of knowledge" personified by the professor portrayed by Sorbo.
This review seems so irrelevant that the conversation here has veered everywhere but the movie or the article itself. One little secret most reviewers don't get is that most viewers just watch the movie without a critical eye.
