No, they’re right. Think about how much heavier cars have gotten. 300 horsepower was a lot 15 years ago because there was no such thing as ‘sporty’ cars that approach the 4000 pound mark.
Yea, this trend needs to fucking die. Just look what it did to the lovely little Genesis Coupe:
I’ve seen a GDI GenCoupe with a 2010 front clip on it. Looked great, best of both worlds.
A blow off valve is even better when you strap a duck-call onto it and go out to harass ricers in their Hondas/Scions/Hyundais/etc:
Yea, but just think, the origional builder of this thing would have done so without the aid of a CNC machine, or hardly any kind of computer assistance at all beyond a pocket calculator. Mind-blowing.
Wrong. That car is fucking hideous in photos and worse in person. Those fake-ass plastic nostrils in the hood are %100, grade-A awful. How can you even begin to defend that shit? The whole Audi-grill thing that Hyundai tried to do with this refresh fell flat on its face. It killed all the balance of the car and just…
This really is a car that looked best when first released and just got uglier as they tacked shit onto it. In fact, I’d say that happens with a lot of British sportscars. Why do they do that?
Great nomination. Looks pretty bad in most photos, but is an amazing looking car in person. It’s so tiny! The roofline is so low and the wheelbase so short that it makes even 17 inch wheels look HUGE on the car (in a good way). The wheel-to-body relationship is just fantastic, among the best of any non-supercar ever…
I would nominate both the Genesis and its Coupe sibling, although different generations.
Yea, guys, just FYI, their pizza does not look like this.
“I’m just amazed at the sheer volume of aftermarket forced induction kits available for these cars, just from memory there are 4 centrifugal blower kits, 2 positive displacement (with 2 more on the near horizon), 1 electric supercharger that actually works, and more than 20 non-ebay spec turbocharger kits.”
Wheel horsepower is the only measurement that matters, so yea, that’s what I meant.
+1, the wheel arches made that concept. They could have gotten rid of every other cool styling feature and still been okay.

I always thought this design made a ton of sense for a nuculear-powered aircraft carrier since, you know, neigh-limitless supply of electricity and all that. You would always be able to keep the coolant loop running.
“I’d just rather use one of the centrifugal kits because they are lighter, create more power in the rev band one expects to use on a track, work well on pump gas, and work with stock cooling circuit.”
A lot of nice cars that will never feel as good as the proposed FRS will feel to drive. In terms of what the control inputs feel like: steering, throttle, clutch, shifter, and especially brakes, a properly modified FRS is neigh untouchable. In order to get equal or better control feel you’ll need to get yourself a…
“heat soaks very quickly on a track”
LoL, sorry to mislead, I am not with MotoIQ personally. They are in California and actually don’t run on E85. Also, I don’t own anything that is nearly as heavily modified as the MotoIQ FRS.
