Quite a lot of nice clarification here. I am a bit familiar with Yamaha's V8 engines, but I was baffled when I read "started out as a 4.4 liter, 60-degree aluminum V8" in the article. There is no reason to build a 60 degree V8 unless it shared architecture with a V6 or V12 that is naturally suited to that angle.

+1. Audi must downplay any idea of their involvement in this one. They are doing exactly the right thing by distancing themselves from it (thus not pissing off the Russians) while also not directly attacking the ad (thus reaping the benefits of the ad's viral presence and all the free publicity that goes with it). Funny, but to be fair a NASCAR crew isn't going to be well-versed into how they should clear the area and control the situation so that nobody gets shot in the face as part of the process.

The Omni was basically a wholesale rip-off on the early VW Rabbit. Chrysler Corp didn't even try to hide that fact. It was developed by Simca: one of Chrysler's European arms based in France. The cheapest engine option in the early Omni models was even a 1.7 liter 4-pot sourced from Volkswagen that Chrysler modified

Shit son, not only is Nick Offerman in this movie, but he voices a mecha-pirate with a shark for an arm:

You don't have to wonder at all. We know exactly where that money is going: right back into the hands of the organizers. The main requirement for winning a construction contract in Sochi has been a willingness to give kickbacks to the people who gave out the contract. Typical Eastern Europe. I'd bet everything I own

I'm pretty sure Jalops would cheer more if it was a Yugo. Actually, I think the more obscure/ridiculous the car the more we'd be into it. I sure as hell know I loved the absurd Unlimited class Dacia Duster when I attended Pike's Peak:

Ehh, I don't think they get size of explosions wrong so much as they get the speed wrong. Hollywood explosions look like big fireballs and they only ever destroy what gets directly touched by the fire. In Hollywood, if you are standing right next to a bomb when it goes off you are totally OK as long as the fire

As cheap as Rx glasses are online these days, there are a lot worse things to buy too many of. At like $20 a pair it is very difficult not to order a half-dozen sets at a time.

I really don't think this qualifies mate.

I'm pretty sure that cat is trying to murder that toy, not hug it; what with biting down into its jugular and all.

+1 for Pike's Peak.

Just put a little dab on your fingertip, let your body heat warm it, and then rub vigorously. As I said, you can rub it down to an incredibly thin film and it still works wonders. It is also quite a lovely skin conditioner as a bonus.

+1, it is the fucking spray oil.

OF ALL TIME!

Yes. Wood is not metal, you can't use it like metal.

You are thinking about this all wrong mate. They wouldn't use solid hardwood. That's ridiculous. They would use strips of wood veneer which get woven together to form a composite not unlike carbon fiber. It can be used for all kinds of things, up to and including bodywork:

Doctor Bronner's changed my life:

Yes. And it is a fucking crime. It wouldn't matter how much money I made; I would never do this. I would never own more cars than I could regularly drive myself.

OMG, thank you!
