I fantasize about the places Icould go that don’t even have Christmas.

I like that idea. Do you think it would in any way be a problem since Feb. is Black History Month? I mean, surely they can co-exist, but many people like to focus on that exclusively.

While in mu 20s I worked retail and as a server in clubs while in college and actually loved working on the holidays. I was able to see people having (mostly) a good time (and people weren’t as rude, pushy and demanding back then. It gave me a good excuse to stay away from my relatives And I maid time and a half:)

I like to celebrate the Winter Solstice. It just feels deeper and more meaningful than the Christian holiday:)

Have you ever considered celebrating the Winter Solstice?(the 22cd this year). I mean, the Solstice WAS Christmas before Christians came along. That’s what we have been doing, and we keep things very simple

And even beyond the sensory level. I’m actually afraid of driving in traffic this time of year. People are doing more than one thing while they are driving. I hate to say it, but around here there are a lot of people driving around inebriated. Scams and theft reach a fever pitch. I have needed to talk to my mother…

I didn’t have children, and for years I was expected to buy a gift for every single member of my sister’s family (which kept growing). They gave me ONE gift - from all of them. Nice.

Yes. And the post office. I mean, the USPS does a terrific job, imo, considering the crush, but just the idea of going in to take care of some usual business is very daunting,
