When I worked in Detroit there was a 1.2% city income tax, for non-residents. It’s higher if you are a resident. I’ve since moved to Columbus which also has an income tax of 2.5%, and a number of Columbus suburbs have income tax as well.

Oh I agree it’s much less prevalent than in the past. I was in the building for the streak when they beat the pens and it was a much smaller showing of Pen’s fans than I had seen in the prior year. But it was still pretty noticeable.
I just recently moved to the area. My first time at Nationwide was for a Wings game…

It was pretty great during their streak this year as well. The problem with Columbus is that it’s so many of the hockey fans in the area are from other parts of the country so during Wings/Pens/Blackhawks games it’s a sea of opposing fans in the building.
