I once punched a man in the face for saying Hawk the Slayer was rubbish. But what I should have said is Dad, you're right. But let's give Krull another try, and talk about it later.

MES wouldn't sign off with "Have a good day!".
Wonderful and Frightening World? I'd argue against it. A definite fan-favourite, and quite definitive of a band that are pretty hard to define, but I remember it being a bit lopsided and difficult to get through in places.
Agreed! That one is very good.
I would recommend This Nation's Saving Grace, or The Marshall Suite. The former is a critic and fan favourite I think, and the latter is my favourite, an opinion that seems to be shared by literally no one else on earth. But it's definitely very listenable!
Ahh, I love defensive Fall fans on the internet. Are you a member of the Fall forum?
Or listen to This Nation's Saving Grace and spare yourself the patchiness and awkward racial slur.
They've had the same lineup since YFOC, right? I think they did a good job on that, and the Remainderer was decent, but recent Fall records have been more of a struggle than usual - and a big part of that is the assumption that they're probably not going to turn it around on the next one.
I've always thought of him as king of the lizard-men.
Mark E. Smith will make a Fall record every year or so until the day he dies. I think the comfort comes from knowing he isn't dead yet.
I've listened to every Fall album, including EPs and a bunch of live albums, except for the past two. Multiple times. I've seen them live three times. Do I like the Fall? Fuck knows.
I think the self-titled has much better stand-out tracks, but lags a bit here and there. Lemonade is so tight and (apart from Daddy Lessons) just consistently great. I think they're both on a par. But I guess if we're talking about "importance in the music canon" (whatever the fuck that means) I think Lemonade's…
First time a women went to number one in the UK with a self-written song… that should count for something!
The fact that Janelle Monae isn't ten times bigger than she is is a fucking crime tbh.
I think you're selling Lemonade short, but not TOO short.
Cibbo Matto are mostly known for their clog dancing, rather than their music.
Hounds of Love is my favourite by a mile and deserves to be higher, but if we're talking about "the canon", and in terms of seriously important records that were milestones for women in pop then The Kick Inside surely has to be pretty far up there.
Yeah, videogames are a bit too gleeful about killing people, innit. Skip the cutscenes and replay the level to headshot as many people as you can - what lessons about humanity are you learning there?
Kate Bush is shockingly low down.
Yep. Sounds good.
