I think what gets lost in this discussion is that HBO likely doesn't have digital streaming rights for their non-exclusive content (i.e. the bulk of their movies).  The fact that there's a Cable subscription login for HBO GO means it's currently a non-issue, as digital streaming is just an extension of the cable…
