Yes, yes, yes...this sun-drenched Italian fantasy is one of my favorites! Not only do you get Shakespeare, but you get Branagh and Thompson at their best and most beautiful, a year’s worth of vicarious vitamin D, and Denzel. And that song!

Taymor’s Titus was the first time I had experienced that play in any form, and it freaked me out so much, I returned it to Blockbuster immediately WITHOUT REWINDING! After I studied it in class, I was able to watch it again, and now it’s one of my favorites, but HOLY HELL, that is one disturbing story. Excellent, but…
Not gonna lie. I love that show a lot. And H20, too.
I remember in the follow-up interview, Gula said she was VERY angry a having her picture taken that first time. She had no idea that her image became so iconic until they found her again. She still wasn’t overly thrilled with it, and they had to ask her husband if it was okay to take the follow-up shot.
I was raised in a small Southern Baptist church and remember these well. As an adult who is still a Christian, it makes me sad that fearvangelism is the way that so many are introduced to Christianity. When I was a kid, I was terrified of the world because of these kinds of tracts. They certainly leave a lasting…
Education and exposure is the key. There are places in Louisiana and other states that are almost exclusively white, even now. All the small farming communities tend to be that way because that’s how it’s always been. (Think post-Civil War/post-Depression era divisions/population shifting and settling.) Not a lot of…
Yes...the main thing is that Meg is insecure about her looks and compares herself to her beautiful mother. It doesn’t matter if the Murrays are cast exactly as written! Gugu is gorgeous!
(Might be spoilery...)
TISH!
Or people could just not freak out like they’ve never met a girl before and you know, treat them normally? Guys don’t have to get all weird just because they find out someone is a girl or (they think someone is a girl). That’s on them, and if they start gifting that person with all kinds of stuff, well that’s because…
I jumped down your throat because you made an assinine assumption about female players who tell people they are female. I knew a lot of guys who would bait conversations with the girls don’t play WoW crap just to see who would respond. Trade chat can circle around to conversations that end up being gender reveals. The…
Your original post didn’t specify you were talking about pugs, so maybe you should think about your phrasing, too.
I’m not talking about standing on mailboxes. When you play the game, and end up on vent or teamspeak, people find out your gender. When you talk to people about random things in guild chat, people often figure out your gender. There’s no reason to hide who you are, anyway.
My first thought exactly. Burn it all down.
And in Louisiana, they can’t have sorority houses because more than like five women living together would make it a brothel. So they have to live in dorms if they want to have a shared living space.
Identifying yourself as female playing a game doesn’t fucking mean you want sexual attention or favors. Fucking hell.
All red velvet cake is a regular chocolate cake with about two bottles of red food dye added to it. Source: my mom used to bake and sell cakes as a side job.
Yeah, we had to stop eating that shit at my house because the blue Boo Berry flavor gave me horrific hives and made our poop both runny and bright green. And my brother turned out to be allergic to red food dye, too, so no Frankenberry, either.
I have a love-hate thing with this show and haven’t seen it all from beginning to end. I did think, though, that Luke’s daughter’s mother didn’t tell him about their daughter because she had some super-romanticized idea about being the strong single mom. She was pissed that April found him and that she suddenly had to…
