Sally always marveled at how a horn could propel her car so rapidly.
Hard pressed to answer that since I’ve completely torn down and rebuilt several cars at this point (including body work and painting). Doesn’t make me an expert but I’m rarely afraid to dive in now. Always done in a small garage or the driveway.
A halogen light is basically just that plus a “parabolic aluminized reflector to improve the focus of the light,” as explained by California’s Consumer Energy Center. Or “a curved metal thingy to shine more light off” as explained by me.
It’s all about getting close to the problem...
And here it is now!
I grew up in the 60’s outside of an Air Force base that specialized in transport C-119’s and later C-130s. My neighbor was chosen as a test/development pilot for the C-5A. He would regale us with tales about how the landing gear went thru such convoluted twist and turns to get stowed it often would bind up and not…
Looking forward to the Garage section. If you need a Mr. Broke garage segment I’m available!
Ask and ye shall receive. EDIT: Just realized that’s not a MKII. Here’s a MkII.
Please note, there is no apostrophe in Hortons. As for why- I’ll let some native of Canada explain why. Just know it wasn’t always that way.
Did he display the letter from Dan Gurney wishing him well with the car? I freaked when I saw it in his garage.
At 5:00 that’s MacAllister and his retinue. Next to the Mirage is Dan Gurney’s World Championship winning Cobra and Nikki Lauda’s World Championship F1 Ferrari on the other side.
So what would you Bass that on?
Awesome cupholders!!
Nice transplant! We used to rally a RX-2 with a 13B that was bridgeported. Had a 54 IDA Weber with chokes so big you could sit on the rim of the venturi tube, dangle your legs inside, and reach down and change the jets. Damn that was a big carb!
I always have a mixed reaction to cars that are updated/modified to appear to be “just like” the bigger, badder version of the that car model. On one hand I’m sure it’s fun, performs well and upon not-so-close look appears to be as good looking as the original.
I know that, I was just quoting the movie. I started studying lasers in 1963. Always been fascinated by ‘em. Got a couple at home.
Real Genius called it years ago. Iodide chemically pumped laser, rotating optics on airborne platform? Check, check and check! BTW this movie was awarded a prize for the most scientifically accurate movie ever. They hung out in laser labs researching everything they mentioned in the movie. 20 years later we see they…
I have a larger version as a screen saver.
The man the legend. John Buffum! I was fortunate enough to attend his first ever rally school.
