Our local SCCA club used to put on the 4000lb. Challenge. Everyone brought their parent's cars, Impalas, ,LTDs and my dad's Bonneville. That was the day I learned why ArmourAll-ing vinyl bench seats is a bad idea. We offered the 'Vette driver the opportunity to run since his car weighed 3950.

What GT-40 chassis # was used for the Grand Prix filming?

GM PowerGlide. 'Nuff said.

Remember kids, ABS means you can still steer you car while braking in slick stuff. It does NOT necessarily mean you're going to stop in time and not hit the dude in front of you (but you might want to steer around him.)

This ism't a GIF yet?

BTW I'm the guy talking to the rider.

National Moto+Cycle makes a number of gas/pedal powered retro-bikes.

He's ready!

The original cup holders. This is why we wanted them in regular cars after we sold out vans.

Can I officially ask for 9 minutes of just the Shelby Daytona please? Please? In fact I'd like that played at my funeral.

Every nut and bolt of that car is shown. I use that as a reference every time I dive into a new repair on my VW.

Oh Lord, this is my own list! Secretly wanted one of each (and in some cases had one). Can disagree with one choice. Not one. I'll even admit the Camry was no doubt the answer to someones needs (although it makes my eye twitch.) And yes, Ford needs to resurrect the GT, again! This time do a MKII version and make the

Having spent my 30's listening to John Buffum hoon his 5 cylinder Audi's thru the woods at night I 100% agree. Nothing like it. 2nd prize goes to Buffum's TR-8 .

Some additional pics of the engine.

I wasn't aware there was a version of that engine with heads that didn't have the exhaust ports in the valley between engine heads. I've never seen the engine without the original "bundle of snakes" exhaust system.

The road=going GT40 was called the MKIII and the one most often shown in the reviews was a gold one. Which was purchased, repainted and brought up to normal MK1 racing trim. Shown here after a brisk ride in it (it's still road-going!)
