No doubt. The point is the usage of petrochemicals isn’t going to go away 100% even if people want it too. And many people who argue against the oil industry don’t always think it through. I’m not advocating for more drilling or coal or such but I’m not going to vilify to the extent that I ignore the uses we do have

It’s not hate for oil companies. It’s hate for their decision making. We know we can’t give up oil instantly because there is so much stuff that is useful that we need out of it. It’s the oil companies failure to acknowledge the problems of burning fossil fuels; if they acknowledged it and were actively trying to do

Haha. TBH, Toyota believed in unicorn farts enough to make their Priuses in volume since 1997 and in the US since 2000 all the damn way to now. The GM EV1 was produced in 1996 to 1999 and then GM gave up. GM could have been a similar position with Toyota. But because bad engineering and bean counter/political

Me too. The way I look at it is the oil industry is important because so much of our lives involves oil based products whether it’s as simple as paint or lubricants or plastics. I don’t see the industry going away because we still want our zip-loc bags or synthetic backpacks or ultra-lightweight sport gear  or winter

This is an almost-good argument until you get to the realization that in 1977,   Jim Black told them CO2 emissions were going to be a big problem and Exxon Mobil followed up and actually did the research up until the mid-1980s. That research confirmed exactly what James Black said and in order to not bother doing

IMHO, the GOP and its supporters will forget everything bad in the next month or so. And they’ll resume their putrid ways.

Yeah, not surprising. But it’s been going on for decades. I remember ordering and getting Windows WFW 3.1x back in the mid-90s that were totally sus. Turns out they were from China. Had to get my money back.
But the opportunity I was talking about wasn’t about MS making sales. Just think of all those

Wow. Talk about a workaround. In my office, we had a full year workup to the actual date. The requirement from clients pushed the whole thing along. We had to push BIOS updates on PCs, complete the legalese to show that all PC based software was patched up to Y2K standards and all user data was as well. Plus on our

And a great VM! OTOH, REXX is actually quite nice.

Sounds to me like an opportunity!

lol. That’s hilarious. I guess I should catalog my installs and keys. IIRC, I actually have all the way back to 3.11 WFW  and DOS 6.2. Never tried running WFW with FreeDOS or what not. That’d be an experiment for sure.

That’s hilarious. The Y2K thing was such a big deal even for non-IT people. Hard to imagine that a payroll setup was ignored. Crazy.

Sweet.

1st : just cut that down to 16 people reporting to him. If they can’t get it done that way, they’re just incompetent.

Eh. No sympathy. Eff with the bull, get the horns. It’s universally acknowledged unless you’re supremely stupid.

I wonder if my Norweigian blooded b-i-ls’ relatives did this back in the day. I was gifted a load of lutefisk last Xmas which we found to be hilarious. But the lefse and jam was most excellent. Once his dad mentioned that back in the MidWest on the farm (in the early 20th century), the kids would be up and about at

I’m sorry. I saw him and thought, ‘he’s prepping for going ice fishing’.

Don’t count your lies before they hatch....

Hey, David Tracy, interesting article that evinces all sorts of replies. When you generate that kind of commentary, you’ve hit a nerve or two. That being said, I find it strange that so many comments are all about what stocks you own and what possible conflicts or interest arise from being part of the auto
