Absolutely. When I make cool noodles for the kids, if they’re handy, they’re a great addition for texture and flavor. They love it when we do’bun thit nu’ong’. Set a bowl of nuoc cham on the side and they’re set. 

I’ve found that a well-built mild nuoc mam/nuoc cham like in 1-1-1-2 ( personally) and then pepper, and/or garlic makes for a great dipping sauce. An alternate also that I like when it’s cold out is a small Chinese style dipping bowl (1.5" x .25" deep) that’s half Hoisin and half Sriracha.
