Whew, good thing the kids don’t do ‘the takeout’. Otherwise, the entire family would be bullied into doing the promotion.

Nope, I have no interest in doing anything like that at all; but I remind you that belief, and especially religious belief, is a wellspring for all sorts of chicanery and simply believing in something doesn’t mean that it’s a good act. If you want to defend ‘thoughts and prayers’ as a form of belief reinforcement,

This kind of bs will continue until people start calling it by its proper name ‘white terrorism’; but media will continue to give these villains a pass.

People just don’t appreciate Lee Marvins singing skills. He was Tom Waits before Tom Waits. OTOH, Eastwood, well, he did kinda suck.

Ok, but I still submit betas have always been at risk of stuff like that which is why getting betas isn’t really a mark of distinction anymore. It used to be that getting betas was almost an insider kind of thing; you had access because the devs needed people to debug games that were close and make legit improvements

USC has always been and always be a money school. In the last 20 years or so, they’ve made a mighty and very concerted effort to compensate for that reputation. A lot of new stuff has been built and they’ve attracted a lot of talent from all over, including stealing it from UCLA. But, the last few years have been very

Yeah, weird, isn’t it. In the hierarchy of private universities in CA, Stanford by far outstands USC. If you’re in the know, USCs sole advantage has been it’s fundraising system which makes everyone else in the country (with the exception of Harvard and Yale and maybe a few others) look like noobs. Otherwise, Stanford

This is big part of the problem; we shouldn’t even overvalue the value of going to college. If the NameBrand universities are so excellent, the world wouldn’t be in the mess that it’s in right now considering how many folks go to them after undergraduate classes. After even a Yalie C student should be able to do the

I really don’t get people who gripe about betas. They’re broken from the beginning; it’s the entire purpose of releasing betas. See what the public can find that’s broken in the beta and test it in the wild. What I really don’t get is why companies even bother releasing betas in the wild nowadays. It’s kind of stupid.

Stay in your house, don’t go out, and don’t do anything. It’s the safest way to be safe.

Don’t buy anything if you’re afraid of getting a steaming pile. Pretty easy to do.

Save your receipt. GOG lets you do it 2 weeks. Steam gives you 2 hours playtime. Either one is a pretty easy process.

Not everything in life requires that you have to have a demo. And there are perfectly fine strategies to compensate.

No, but waiting to see if it’s a good buy is a perfectly excellent counter tactic.

Wait for someone else to buy it and try it then. It’s called delayed gratification and many times it will save you a lot of money and pain.

whatever

No, I didn’t miss the point at all unless the developers themselves own Bioware. In which case, your argument makes total sense. However, Bioware is owned by EA. The last Bioware game I bought was ME3. The last EA game I bought was Titanfall I. I don’t buy anything current from those shops because most of their

I agree. BUT, declaring that your personal sales point is $60, for example, gives a company a starting point to build a sales case from. You’ve essentially underwritten the fact that you’re willing to pay $60 from the get-go. Maybe they could make a great game at $30 but you’ve already given them $30 upfront.

AND,

I agree. BUT, this is why we have reviewers and websites to take a critical look at games BEFORE we buy them. You have a legitimate complaint about games that are released broken or have microtransactions built-in. But this is a result of people complaining about long development times and/or paying $60 dollars for a

Dunno if I’m down with the banning. The more interesting thing to do would be to put them in a booth with a bunch of ex-semi-pro ballers all around them who have nothing to lose. That’d be fun to watch.
