I see this article doing exactly what you say - it helps people make informed decisions about what they want to buy and support.

OK. How do you feel about game criticism?

Capitalism is both. The system is a tool for those who propagate it. Even its proponents describe it in those terms. And I’m well aware that wealth and power are both a means and an end. What you completely fail to understand - and this is because of a very false assumption that you’ve made - is that the pursuit of

Why do they need all the money? What do you think they would use that power for? What do you think the effect would be on everyone else?

I assume only that wanting to become rich means more than just that. Money is power, and the pursuit of it necessarily entails some underlying tendency for how they would use that power (whether they acknowledge the tendency or not). For instance, Tencent might want to roll back labor regulations, or leverage

Yes, that’s obvious. Think beyond that.

I don’t understand Tencent. I guess that’s like saying I don’t understand GE. Its industries are huge and diverse, from banking to video games. What are its goals, besides getting really big?

Cue bad-faith overgeneralization, you might mean, because that's what you did.

For what it’s worth, I like both the second and the third game’s approaches to potions for different reasons. Witcher 3 item system felt quick and kept me in the action as I could chug or switch potions at will. That made this long and large game feel like it respected my time.

“Oh, nah, they’re a major asshole” is asshole for “They wouldn’t let me do all the asshole things I asked of them.”

It looks intriguing, so I might take a look after I finish FFXII: TZA.

Most writers, even.

In other words: media changes minds, and minds change the world.

Mybe they were edited or flagged quickly, but I saw the first several comments. At least one was directly that shitty.

I would love to have that kind of debate about Choose Your Own Adventure or any kind of branching experience. I think they absolutely are games, for instance, albeit ones that challenge the kinds of interactivity we expect from games.

It has gotten better in some ways.

No; how brave of you. Your own broken logic suggests you should shut up and work some good in the world rather than "bitching," but yet here you are.

To name a few, Chrono Trigger, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Earthbound, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Grandia, Grandia 2.

I understood “in the original game”; I was representing my view. In the following sentence, I acknowledge yours: I find it hard to treat the original FF7 as real and the remake as fabricated.

Hah.. assumer.
