Well, to be fair, a very big focal point of the game and Kojima’s motive for making it is that he wants combat - and especially murder/death - to be very narratively and mechanically meaningful; it’s kinda comical that you see it as ‘yet another game with guns’.
That’s why they’d be okay for a casual game. It isn’t as if they’re deliberately weighted, so the error rate will be variable. In my experience with handmade dice, the error would be undetectable without a high number of rolls.
