In hockey and baseball, you can get drafted and still play in college. In golf and tennis, you can play as an amateur on the pro tours.
You can go pro in baseball, hockey, tennis or golf without going to any college - but not in football or basketball.
What is so confusing about this? I have a buddy playing pro lacrosse now and he is absolutely loaded. He has been rich as long as I can remember, probably because boosters gave his parents that great house and great jobs.

In a just world, he’d be the eventual successor to Mark Emmert.
He really does put his points very eloquently. Perhaps he’s so eloquent because he received a fantastic education for FRE-*Gets sucked into hot take black hole*

Probably because they weren’t looking in the first place
In a way, Winn is there to show you can overcome your past. As angsty as he might get about being the son of a supervillain, we know he’s going to be all right.
Eh, the show’s not subtle about it, but I’d argue that’s different than being inadequate to the task - at least in the way FatherOctavian is describing.
Keep in mind that in the Arrowverse, one learns about ones impeachment also from the news.
